These are one of the easiest and yummiest finger food desserts EVER!
The recipe is as follows…
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Then start mixing ingredients for the bottom and top layers…
Bottom Layer Ingredients:
- 18 oz Duncan Hines Moist Deluxe Lemon Supreme Cake Mix (Butter Recipe) – Note: this previously required 1 box, but now requires 1 full box and part of another (Duncan Hines decreased the amount included in a single box)
- 1 Egg
- 1 Stick butter, melted
Instructions:
Mix together egg, cake mix, and butter. Pat into well-greased 9 x 12″ light-colored (aluminum) cake pan. (The consistency of the mixture should be similar to play-dough, so you’ll need to work the mixture into place so that it covers the pan completely.)
Topping Layer Ingredients:
- 2 Eggs
- 1 (8 oz.) Cream Cheese, softened & at room temperature
- 1 Box Powdered Sugar (approx. 450 grams or 3.75 cups)
- 1 tsp. Vanilla
Instructions:
Blend together eggs, cream cheese, vanilla, and sugar. Pour over the top of the crust and bake at 350 degrees for 50 minutes.
Note: after 40 minutes, if the top layer already has a decent golden-brown color, cover with foil (to prevent the top from becoming too dark) and continue baking for about 10 more minutes.
Important Note: Use a light-colored aluminum pan.
Cutting note: When cutting the finished sheet into separate bars, be sure to use a knife coated in Pam Cooking Spray for easier, smoother cuts.
